OFF TO THE DENTIST – WITH A SMILE

It’s important to get children accustomed to visiting the dentist starting at age 2. Feel free to bring your child along to your own appointment. In the waiting area, we have a dedicated play corner where children can feel at ease. This early exposure helps them build familiarity with dental visits.

A healthy smile brings children joy for a lifetime—but it requires care! We support you in this through our Tandzania Safari. This is an experience designed by us, where, together with our milk tooth team, your child can learn about good oral care in a fun and interactive way.

YOUR FIRST VISIT TO THE DENTIST

The first visit is all about getting to know each other. We aim to establish a good connection with the child and explain what we do in a friendly manner. To prevent any anxiety about dental visits, we follow the “Gewoon Gaaf” prevention program from Zilveren Kruis. This helps ease any fears and allows the dentist to monitor the growth and development of your child’s teeth. We also provide early advice and tips to maintain a healthy smile. If needed, your child can be referred to our prevention assistant at the practice. The motto is “Learn early, smile big!” and a brushing diploma is a fun achievement.

Dental care for children up to 18 years of age (excluding orthodontics) is covered by the basic health insurance. These costs do not count toward your deductible, so there is no out-of-pocket expense. Please note that the patient or parent/guardian is responsible for checking the coverage details. Some health insurers reimburse a limited number of minutes per year for cleanings or check-ups. It’s important to check with your insurer to understand exactly what is covered.
